How to install CWM recovery on Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 is a tablet with root access and a custom recovery available. The following guide teaches you everything you need to do to install CWM recovery on Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5. Once you have installed the custom recovery, you can use it to install custom ROMs. Simply navigate to the ‘install’ option from the recovery menu and browse your SD card for the ROM. You’ll need to research what ROMs are available for your device and check out reviews so you know which ones are the best ROMs.

REQUIREMENTS

The following guide is only to be completed on the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 tablet. Should you try to follow the guide on a different tablet, you will probably brick down the device so it will no longer work without a fix.

BEFORE WE BEGIN

Download the Samsung Galaxy USB Drivers for mobile phones from our page here.
Make sure the USB Debugging Mode is already enabled before connecting your device to the Windows PC. You can do that by heading to the Menu > Settings > Developer Options > checking the box that’s on the screen for USB Debugging Mode.
Some of you will not see any Developer Options menu, so you need to unlock that menu which is currently hidden. Do that now by heading to the menu > Settings > About Device > tap your finger over where it says the Build Number. Eventually it will tell you that you are now a developer.
You are voiding the Samsung Galaxy Tab warranty by following this guide. You’ll need to head over to the Samsung Knox website and check if your model comes with the Knox security. If the answer is no, that means you can unroot the device and restore the warranty. Otherwise, you can still unroot the device and return back to the stock ROM, but the warranty will remain revoked.
