How to root Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Guide

Once you root Samsung Galaxy Note 2 N7100 phablets, you can start installing many more applications like the ROM Toolbox. REQUIREMENTS

The following guide works for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 with model number N7100 only. You can double-check your model number to make sure that is the same as your device by navigating to the Menu > Settings > About Device and checking the model number from the details.

BEFORE WE BEGIN

Download the Samsung USB Drivers for mobile phones from our USB Drivers page here, or download the ADB drivers from ClockworkMod recovery found on the same page.
You must have a Windows PC to complete this guide. You cannot get these tools to work on a Mac OS X or Linux operating system.
You must have the bootloader unlocked on the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 before you can get root access using the guide. Failure to unlock the bootloader will result in a bricked device.
You are voiding the Samsung warranty on your galaxy Note 2 device by following this guide. You can only get that warranty back again if your device doesn’t come with Samsung’s Knox security.
Enable the USB Debugging Mode on your device before starting the guide.

HOW TO ROOT SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE 2 ON ANDROID 4.4.2 KITKAT

Download the CF-Auto-Root package from Chainfire’s website here.
Download the latest version of the Odin flashing tool from here.
Transfer both of the files over to the desktop of the computer.
Right-click over each of the files and select the option to “extract here”.
Turn off your Note 2 device by holding in the Power button until you know it’s all the way off.
Reboot it holding the Power + Home + Volume Down buttons and wait until you can see the download mode on the display.
Press the Volume Up button to get your device in the download mode.
Connect it to the computer using the USB cable.
Wait for the ID: COM port to change colors (yellow) so you know it is connected and the Samsung USB drivers are working.
Click the PDA/AP button and browse the desktop for the CF-Auto-Root executable file you extracted to the desktop at the beginning of the guide.
Leave the Auto Reboot and F Reset Time options on.
Check the re-partition box is left empty because you do not want to re-partition your devices drive.
Click the Start button and the Odin flashing tool will flash and root your device with the CF-Auto-Root tool.
You know it’s complete when you get the pass message from the message box available to see from the Odin user interface.
Wait for your Samsung Galaxy Note 2 to reboot automatically since you have the Auto Reboot box checked.
