REQUIREMENTS
You must have a Google Nexus 4 before you can follow this guide.
You must have a Windows PC to get the N-Cry Toolkit working on the computer. It probably does not work on a Mac or a Linux computer.
BEFORE WE BEGIN
There is no need to install the USB Drivers on your computer before you start the guide because the Toolkit will install the Google USB Drivers for you during the guide. All you need to do is follow our steps. Those who prefer to install them manually can install visit our USB Drivers download page and get them. Moreover, you are welcome to install the universal ADB Drivers made by Koush instead. HOW TO INSTALL TWRP RECOVERY ON GOOGLE NEXUS 4
Download the N-Cry Toolkit for your Nexus 4 from this official N-Cry website here.
After you download the file, shift it over to the desktop.
Right-click the mouse over the N-Cry file and choose to “extract here” from the menu.
Double-click over the N-Cry executable file and launch the Toolkit on the desktop. You should see it open.
Connect your Nexus 4 device to the computer with the USB cable.
From the main Toolkit UI, click on the Driver Setup button and the Google USB Drivers will install for your device.
Click the on recovery button from the menu after the Toolkit tells you the device is detected.
Click the button to enter the Bootloader mode and your device will boot up in the fastboot/bootloader mode.
Choose the TWRP recovery option from the drop down menu list of recoveries.
Click the option for enabling the Permanent recovery if you want to keep the custom recovery on your device until you decide to flash the stock recovery.
