How to enter Recovery Mode on iPhone
Recovery Mode is a distinguished mode we often refer to with our Android guides. Both Android and iOS have their own recovery mode. Fundamentally, recovery mode is for winning back the iPhone so it’s working again in your favor. We often do this by restoring the iPhone firmware which is similar to applying a software update. Here’s how to enter recovery mode on the iPhone:
WHY YOU WANT RECOVERY MODE
You are experiencing a boot loop after a software update, or any other soft-brick symptoms, including a buggy OS that is inoperable.
You updated the software or restored the software, but iTunes doesn’t recognize the device.
You updated or restored the device and the computer doesn’t recognize the device.
REQUIREMENTS
Download the latest version of iTunes on the computer.
HOW TO ENTER RECOVERY MODE ON THE APPLE IPHONE
1. Completely power off the iPhone by holding the Sleep/Wake button and sliding the power slider bar to the right.
2. Find the USB cable you use to charge the device.
3. Hold the Home button and connect the iPhone to the computer with the USB cable. Do not let go of Home.
4. You should see a message saying it’s connected to iTunes.
5. You are now in the dedicated iPhone recovery mode and ready to restore your device using iTunes.
Restoring the iPhone doesn’t always work for everybody. If restoring didn’t fix your problem you might want to head to the Apple forums online or take it into an Apple store to get them to take a look at what’s happening. You’ll find any solutions to common problems by typing the exact symptoms into Google, but some problems can require professional help.
