REQUIREMENTS

You must have a custom recovery installed on the Moto G 2014 to follow this guide. You are booting into that custom recovery and flashing the SuperSU.
The following guide is made for the Motorola Moto G 2014 device — that’s the second-generation Moto G and not the first or third. Do not install the files we are using in this guide on any other version of the Moto G because they will brick the device.

BEFORE WE BEGIN

Download the Motorola USB Drivers directly to your computer so you can use the computer, Moto G and the files in harmony.
You will need the Developer Options unlocked (Menu > Settings > About Device > tap the build number for as long as it takes until it says you are now a developer).
From there you need to access the Developer Options menu ( Menu > Settings > Developer Options) and enable the USB Debugging Mode by checking the box for that option.
You are voiding the Motorola warranty agreements by proceeding past this step and continuing on with the guide. You can usually get warranties working again for your Motorola Moto G handset by unrooting the device later. However, you should know that by unrooting the device you are revoking the rooting permissions that were necessary for installing the rooted apps from the Google Play Store. Once you unroot the device you can only install the apps you could when you first opened the device out of the box.
You must have the bootloader unlocked before you can follow this guide. It will not work if you try rooting the Motorola Moto G with a locked bootloader.
