We reported a few days ago that Samsung has started Android 7.0 Nougat beta testing for the Galaxy S7 edge in the United Kingdom. It has since pulled the Galaxy Beta Program app and the servers don’t appear to be fully functional right now but according to a Samsung website the beta test will start November 9.

Called the Galaxy Beta Program, the Android 7.0 Nougat beta test enables users to test out the new major update and provide Samsung with feedback about its performance, stability and usability. To participate users first have to download the Galaxy Beta Program application from Galaxy Apps and then have to submit an application form through the Registration menu inside the app. Do keep in mind that registration alone won’t cut it, users have to be selected by Samsung in order to take part in the program.

The website adds that this beta program will be open to Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge owners in the United Kingdom and that the test period runs from November 9 to mid-December. It also points out that the Galaxy S7 edge Olympic Edition and Batman Injustice Edition are not supported in this beta program. If that really is the case, expect a formal announcement of the Android 7.0 Nougat beta test this week.

Update: The Android 7.0 Nougat beta testing program for the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 edge will be open to users in the United States, South Korea and China as well the United Kingdom. Verizon, T-Mobile and Sprint models of the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge are supported for users in the United States. All unlocked models in the UK are supported while South Koreans will need to have a KT, SKTelecom or LG U+ model in order to register. Compatible models have not been listed on the Chinese page yet. Users will be able to register in supported markets starting November 9.

How to Join Galaxy Beta Program?
First of all, you have to download Galaxy Beta Program app from Galaxy store or from above and install it on your device. Now create a Samsung account or if you already have an account then submit a ‘Galaxy Beta Program’ application form through ‘Registration’ menu on the top of the app.

After completing the Galaxy Beta Program registration process, Go to Setting -> Device information ->download updates and click on the ‘Software Update’ menu to install the update.

How to Cancel/Deregister from Galaxy Beta Program
If the company roll out the official Nougat update and you want to use that version instead of your beta version, then you can easily cancel the beta testing program. To cancel Galaxy Beta Program, Go to Galaxy Beta Program app menu and select ‘Deregister’. After that install, the latest official version from Smart switch app or via Odin and check for official update.
