HTC devices comes with locked Bootloader and once it is unlocked you can expect to obtain root quiet easily, but unlocking bootloader will lead to warranty being VOID so be careful before proceeding to unlock the bootloader.

Before you proceed any further make sure to charge your device above 30%, though we recommend a full charged device before rooting.
Step -1: Make Sure Device Model No
Check the model number of device and make sure you have correct model or device for which the guide is prepared. Be warned before using this guide with any other product from same brand or different brand.
This guide is for Unlocking Bootloader of any HTC Devices only.
Step 0: Backup your Device
Backup is mandatory as this will wipe most of internal data. Backup is always recommended. Below is guide on how to backup most of your data.

Step 2: Register at HTC Developers
The very first step involves registration at HTC Developers which is quiet easy and simple. Make sure to fill correct email as it will be necessary in end.

Step 3: Extract the downloaded archive
Extract the downloaded archive to some place on PC and run the .exe program on Windows PC. Don’t worry about phone model as this toolkit is useful for every HTC devices to unlock bootloader and root.
After running program click on very first tab and download and install HTC Drivers if not installed already. Enable USB Debugging on your handset by going into Settings>About and tapping the Build Number seven times. Then go toSetting>Developer Options and check the USB Debugging Box.
Connect your phone and Then click on get token id some popup will appear and then click on yes and your phone will enter in bootloader mode. Then second popup window will come up with some code copy it and follow next step.
Click on fourth point submit token id and follow instructions on HTC website. In list of devices select All other supported devices. Then a popup will appear read it and proceed by clicking on yes. Accept terms and agreements and proceed. Scroll down to bottom and proceed to next step.
In step 7 paste the copied code in My Device Identifier Token field and click submit. Within few minutes you will receive the unlock token in your mail. Open the email and download the token and in the toolkit program click on fifth step to unlock bootloader. Again on popup will come with CMD showing waiting device close it as you are already in fastboot mode. Then another popup will come asking you to locate unlock.bin. Navigate and select the file and let the process begin.
After this step on your device you will see two option yes or no to unlock bootloader. Using volume keys select yes and press power key to confirm the option. Congrats your device bootloader is now unlocked.
